RACERS GUIDE TAKE TIME TO READ!!

DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KILL SWITCH IS!!!!!! KILL SWITCH PLEASE

  • Pick up your Driver Information Card at Front Gate.
  • Fill out your driver info. card completely and take to Tower.
  • Find yourself a pit space and listen for your class to be called.          This could be a good time to relax, or maybe take a look around, go to the concession stand or just visit with some of the really nice people that race at Centerville Dragway!!
  • When you class is called, go to the Staging lanes and line up for your time trial. The time trials are ran in sessions and each racer gets 1 pass per session only. Please be sure and bring your punch time trial card to staging area!!
  • Do not get back in line until you class is called for the next session.
  • We usually call: Street- Pro No E- Super Pro-E.T. Bike- Jr. Dragsters if we are running a Special such as Mopars then we call them first.
  • Track official will motion you onto the track. Cars with slicks can back into the water boxes for a burnout. Cars with treaded tires usually don't back into the water boxes. (It can actually make traction worse.)
  • After you have heated your tires roll slowly towards the starting line until Pre-stage light (very top bulb on tree in you lane) is on. Inch your vehicle slowly forward until you stage light comes on. When both racers are staged the tree will count down to the Green. Most racers leave on the 2nd or 3rd Amber light, depending on the reaction of you and your vehicle. .000 Reaction time is perfect on our Newly updated Accutime System.

  • You are Drag Racing!! Stay in the center of your lane unless you have problems with your vehicle, then move to the outside edge of the race track and stop. If no problems exist always clear racing surface before you stop!!
  • When you pass the finish line slow your vehicle and turn right at the end of track. Stop at the E>T. Shack for your Time Slip. Drive slowly back to your Pit area and wait for your class to be called for the next  round of time trials.
  • During Eliminations all vehicles must display a Dial-N on the right side of the windshield and the passenger door window. NO DIAL N BOARDS MAY BE HELD UP BY THE DRIVER OR CREW FOR THE TOWER TO READ. ALL DIAL INS WILL BE WRITTEN ON THE VEHICLE OR ON A DIAL IN BOARD THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE!!
  • Dial-N must be neat and easily Read BY TOWER!!!Please use Dial N polish that The Track Recommends!!  Refrain from using Blue or Red because it is hard to see!!
  • First  or 2nd round buy backs in each class has been voted on Losers can re-enter  ( 1 time) 1st or 2nd round by going to the tower immediately.
  • Look your cars over food: Check the Overflow, Tighten Lug Nuts, and anything that needs to be secured. If you are driving a Pick up remove all debris that will get on the track. Make sure tires are clean. All these factors help in speeding up the process of the Race Day.
  • IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK  A TRACK OFFICIAL AND HE WILL BE GLAD TO HELP!!! GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A GREAT TIME AT CENTERVILLE DRAGWAY

                     GENERAL RACE REGULATIONS

On any run of a handicap eliminator if both cars break out, the car breaking out the least will be declared the winner. If both cars break out the same amount, the "First to Finish" shall declare the winner.

In Rare cases a Double Break Out can be so close that the print out will show both drivers breaking out the same amount. When this happens the ACCUTIME system will compute the numbers much farther than the printed sheet can display, and will award the win to the proper lane.

Centerville uses Auto Start on all classes except Jr.s Timer will be activated when both racers are pre-staged but timer will not start until 3 bulbs are on ( Both pre stage lites and 1 stage lite) Settings may vary but burn down time is usually 10-15 sec. Burn down timer starts when 3 lites are on and times how long it takes the 2nd car to stage. If time exceeds the settings before 2nd car stages an automatic Red lite will result. The stage to start timer begins when both cars are staged and is the time between the 2nd stages and the tree countdown. The stage to start setting varies but is usually between 1.2 sec and 2 seconds.

BYE RUNS: Bye Runs are earned by the following: 1st Round bye goes to $1 Jackpot winners from time trials. After 1st Round byes go to Best package( winning run that is closest to a perfect run) Package is figured by the computer and must be a green lite above the dial in run. Bye run may have to race an opponent if an even ## of cars. Bye runs opponent in this case will be the last car left after the pairing process and bye holder will get lane choice. If bye holder races and wins he will carry bye to next rd. If by holder loses in a bye back rd. he can re –earn the bye in a later rd. Only 1 bye run per racer with the following exception: All racers left have already had 1 bye then Best package will award the 2nd bye. Example: 3 cars with all having had a bye then driver with Best Package from previous round will get bye to the final.

   No Traction compound Permitted.

Any machine touching any marker line during the measured race will be disqualified.

In determining lane boundary crossing violations, it is considered a disqualification when any portion of  a tire touches the painted line surface. Contact with the guard railing, barriers, or any other track fixture (i.e. "Christmas tree,"  "Timing  equipment, cones, ect) is ground for disqualification.
